We all are aware of the work of web designer. If the design of website is attractive then visitors can be diverted easily but if it is not designed and optimized correctly then it will adversely affect your sale. Even visitors will not return again. Therefore an seo is a person who will optimize your website and help a website to rank high in search engines. Though if designers are aware of few important aspect about their website then it will easy for them to create a site which will be search engine as well as human friendly.

I am specifiying some important techniqes which will be helpful for designer to create their site search engine and user friendly.

1. Create text based website with few images and graphics. It will load quickly and any search engine spider can crawl it fast.

2. Use heading tags for the target keyword of the page and also for the heading of the page.

3. Use bread crumbs for better navigation. For instance Home > Tips > Web Designer Tips.

4. Try to Avoid use of table and if possible replace the table using div.

5. Page size should not be more than 75 kb.

6. Create sitemap for a website which will help robots to go to any page from your sitemap.

7. Avoid using frames in your page as it is not search engine frindly.

8. Use external CSS file. Donot add CSS in the web pages. It will make a web page heavy.

9. Remove unwanted text from the page like comments text.

10. Optimize the images used on the website. It will help to increase the loading speed of images.

11. Use alt and title tags to the images and make it relevant to the images.

12. Reduce your usage of javascript as it creates problem in crawling the pages by search engines. Use external javascript file.

13. Use text navigation instead of image navigation. Text navigation will help users and search engines to navigate easily and it will help to increase ranking of the page in the search engines by a particular keyword used as anchor text.

14. The page should be content rich and keep the content inside the P tag.

15. Choose page name relevant to the page content and should be human-friendly. If a page provides seo tips for webdesigners then it should be webdesigners-seo-tips.html not 16.html or webdesigners55.html. Also avoid underscore, use hyphen between the words.
